Here are a couple of sites and cookbooks that inspire me and will hopefully do the same for you:
Food Sites
- 101 Cookbooks – Heidi Swanson’s site is simple and beautiful, and I’ve followed it for at least 6 years. Every recipe I’ve tried here has been wonderful, and I equally enjoy her commentary. Both her recipes and photos are inspired and fresh and the ingredients natural.
- Cookie and Kate – Kate gives a healthy twist on many recipes, including baked goods, and her recipes are often my ‘Meatless Monday’ inspiration. Try her healthy banana bread recipe.
- Naturally Ella – Yet another site that I’ve been following for years. Erin’s recipes (and photos) exude warmth and comfort, and her vegetarian dishes spotlight natural ingredients combined to create beautiful and flavorful healthy meals. Try the buffalo chickpea and bulgur chili.
- Sally’s Baking Addiction – The one-stop shop for all things baked. I frequent this site around holidays and birthdays. If you like chewy chocolate chip cookies, her recipe will change your life
- Smitten Kitchen – This is another one that I’ve been following for years. Deb Perelman shares decadent recipes with simple ingredients. I mainly go to the site looking for sweets recipes and have never been disappointed (try the apple pie cookies!). Her tips are also great!
- The Kitchn – I find all sorts of useful tips/how-to’s, food and kitchen-related item news, and basic recipes here.
- A couple more that I really like and frequent regularly: A Couple Cooks, Minimalist Baker, Oh She Glows
